So whats all this fuss about Herring eggs anyways? I was wondering the same thing. So while my dad was cooking up a storm in the galley, I couldn’t help but smell the aroma of slimy egg pouches on the fryer. Before I made any more judgments, I needed to try it myself.

The Japanese refer to this stuff as kazunoko, dried and salted herring roe sacs. They consider this stuff to be one of the finest delicacies around. Not for us Americans though. The Japanese lay down big bucks for these things.
