After four straight days of installing and working on our engine for the power skiff, we finally got it up and running days after fishing had opened. I call her Big Bertha, or my Bearded Lady. It was lengthened in the back to help with the steering. I think it just looks ridiculously huge now, especially with me in it. I like to get up on step when I am cruising and so I was a little disappointed after our test drive. Now I can’t go past 2,500 RPM with out plowing through the water like a submarine getting drenched. I guess I’ll have to accept it as merely a ‘working’ skiff and not my toy boat.
