The Ocean Fresh "Law"

It’s always nice to know where your food is coming from, so I decided to document at least one of the other steps in the salmon supply chain. With the fishermen being at the top of course, the processor usually comes in third. The tender (delivery boat) will pick up the fish from the fishing boats and then deliver the days catch to the processor.

I found this rather comical. This sign was posted on the wall of the cafeteria. I guess it’s easy for these foreign workers to get lost in the Alaskan wilderness. So to prevent this from happening create and enforce their own ‘law’.

In this instance we delivered directly to the processor Ocean Fresh. The F/P Ocean Fresh does custom processing for Trident Seafoods. The project manager was kind enough to show my sister and I around the plant. Watch and you will see.
