A New Beginning

It is not just a face lift, The Real Alaska is launching a new beginning!

Brett and Sierra have been working very hard to bring TRA to the next level and we want to share some of our newest features and walk you through our new website, mission and vision.

One of our most exciting additions is our list of new contributors. Our contributors will be able to reach beyond commercial fishing into other aspects about Alaska such as travel advice & destinations, Alaskan jobs and stories of our state. Please feel free to comment on their posts, read their bios and engage in any questions or comments you may have. We will be adding their bios in coordination with their first post.

As you can see, our website has a different look with an easier to read platform. Our homepage will rotate our featured posts that should capture your attention. Our videos and photo albums are in a more organized format so you are able to navigate through and see all the beauty Alaska has to offer.

As we branch past commercial fishing you will be able to immerse yourself in an interactive showcase of what Alaska has to offer. Whether you are an Alaskan reading and relating to other Alaskan posts, or someone who has a sparked interest about our state, you can find information and multimedia about a variety of topics.

As TRA advances, so has our mission and what we hope to provide to you.

Our Mission: The Real Alaska serves to be the top online destination for an audience seeking truthful information about Alaska. The content we provide is unique because it is produced by Alaskans with true Alaskan experiences. We will provide a forum with written and multimedia content to educate anxious visitors and a place for Alaskans to share their experiences.
Stepping into the future with TRA

Our Vision: The travel guide field is a competitive one. However, most destination reference sources are trying to sell you, our viewers, on specific activities, lodging or events. We recognize there is a need for a solid online information hub for viewers interested about Alaska minus the sales pitches. We will only feature specific companies, entities or activities that we as Alaskans believe best represent our beautiful state. Our recommendations are only those that we would give to family and friends, just like we do to our community of readers.

We are always looking for additional contributors, and if you are interested please email us your answers to our questionnaire found here.

Thank you for taking the time to peruse our website. We hope you are as excited as we are about our new beginning. Please share TRA with your friends, family and network!
