We’ve been to three cities so far: Seattle, Portland and Corvallis and the Save Bristol Bay Road Show is on its way to San Francisco next. We had almost 300 people attend in Seattle, 500 in Portland and we packed the house in Corvallis with over 100 attendees.
As a featured panelist, I am responsible for representing the 1,800 Bristol Bay drift permit holders. It is vital that people around the country understand that the commercial fishery alone is a $350 million industry that employs over 3,500 people full-time, and 12,000 jobs seasonally! This is not an anti-mining campaign, this is a pro-jobs and pro-economy movement that is sustainable.
With almost 1,000 attendees so far in the Pacific Northwest, my excitement to bring this movement to San Francisco is sky high. If you are in the area, please join myself, Melanie Brown, an Alaska Native and commercial fisherwoman and Ben Blakey, of family-run, seafood processor Snopac Products.
I will re-cap the entire set of events next week. Do you want to know more about the Pebble Mine? Watch this video below:
