The long awaited day has come. I am excited to finally announce whats been a work in progress for over 2 years. HOOK, LINE, & SISTERS will premier on TLC December 29th at 9PM (ET/PT). A show about my family and I commercial fishing in Alaska.
As is the case with every reality show, this one will inevitably have an emphasis on the human aspect, relationships, and the dramatic life of a family working together. Putting all that aside, I am especially excited to showcase the beauty of Alaska and promote wild salmon. My family has been sustainably harvesting this premier product for four generations, but I’ve never been able to show how the complex fishing process actually happens.
I want to make Alaskans and the fishing community proud. My hope is that this will also bring an added awareness to consumers of what it takes to get seafood from the ocean to their plates…beginning with the fishermen.
I will be posting behind the scenes videos and photos on The Real Alaska in conjunction with the episodes as they air. Stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted on any further updates.
Thank you to all of our fans for supporting The Real Alaska and my work!

Oh my gosh! I remember saying you should do something like this while we were sitting in Olive Garden at my sister-in-laws birthday party when Mark Muha brought you to Grand Rapids to meet all of us! Awesome stuff!

As a 3rd generation seiner in Alaska, and current captain I am excited to see that seining will be on national t.v. and I really hope it goes well. However, from what I have heard from other fisherman, it sounds like its going to be more of a family drama accompanied with eye candy(the girls). I really hope they get some fishing in there and it shows how vigorous our profession is.

@Conspiracy – We’ve seen the first episode and can assure you that the show emphasizes how vigorous our profession is! We all know that the dramatic, human element side is what hooks viewers, but it is the exciting and dangerous work of commercial fishing that sets this show apart.
