This season came with its own share of trials. That’s why we call it fishing and not necessarily catching. Remember, there are no guarantees in this business. We went from catching no fish the first day, to getting rammed the second, hanging up on bottom, then finally striking it big the third. The 2.5 day journey from Homer to Chignik aboard the ferry Tustumena includes a stop over in Kodiak for half day. The ferry continues down the Aleutian Chain all the way to Dutch Harbor.
