Dutch Harbor

Follow Brett and his fishing stories in the Aleutian Islands. He is based out of Dutch Harbor, the famous seaport filmed by the Deadliest Catch. This is one of the most remote areas of Alaska and he will be a crewmember instead of a skipper. The boat is fishing for huge amounts of pink salmon.

Sitka Herring

Sierra re-entered the commercial fishing industry with her father in Sitka this past Spring. This was also the first time the Shady Lady changed hands from Brett’s dad to Sierra’s. Expect collisions, a record-breaking set and disaster. This is a high energy, dog eat dog fishery.

Bristol Bay

This is one of the most chaotic fisheries in the state. Generally, the season lasts for only five weeks, but a boat can catch up to 200,000 lbs. or more. Brett tries out his luck as a skipper navigating through tough waters and trying to strike it big with a huge season.

Chignik

Sierra moves back to where she and Brett met when they were kids. Chignik is down the Alaska Peninsula from Kodiak and is a lively fishing village during the summer. The scenery is unbelievable and the total catches can be enormous.

Longlining

Longlinging is physically one of the hardest fisheries because each black cod and halibut must individually be brought aboard. These stories capture the grueling hours fishing alone sometimes fifty miles offshore. However, halibut can reach excess of 400 pounds so tune in to catch the big one.
